  Craig Andrews, Technical Director, Foster Contracting Ltd (FCL)

  Craig, with 36 years of UK&I highways dedicated experience, serves as the Technical Director for Foster Contracting Ltd, a specialist contractor.

  His knowledge spans 18 years in the private sector, where he excels as a technical expert, focusing on best value, resilient pavements, and resource optimisation, during both the construction phase and the entire life cycle.

  In his previous 18 years with Lincolnshire’s highways department, Craig managed bypasses, maintained roads and structures, and mentored ICE indentured trainees.

  His strategic influence has extended to representing the industry through committees and working groups, contributing to the advancement of specifications, standards and documents.

  Ian Chattington FIAT FCIHT, Managing Director, Power Plane Ltd

  Originally trained as a Quantity Surveyor with AC Lloyd (C.Eng.) Ltd, Ian moved to Asfare Ltd as a Surfacing Supervisor/QS, worked his way up and ended his career there as Managing Director before starting Power Plane Ltd in 1996. With overall responsibility for all aspects of the business he still enjoys the big boys toys and is always happiest finding better solutions to on-site problems.

  Jamie Cochran

  Regional Contracts/Sales Manager, Archway Roadmaster UK

  I’ve been in Roads Industry a little over 25 years. Initially 7 years with the Roads Authority DLO in Scotland, and the remainder in Sales of both Roads Maintenance Products and Processes – working for both Colas UK and Geveko Markings UK accounting for the remaining 18 years.

  In 2024 I returned to Roads Contracting in my current role as Regional Contracts/Sales Manager with Archway Roadmaster UK.

  Aidan Conway

  Aidan has over 20 years’ experience in the highway maintenance industry, starting with surface dressing and applying asphalt bonding layers with a fleet of spray tankers.

  More recently he has founded Thermal Road Repairs, offering zero waste, low carbon solutions to the asphalt industry.

  Hayden has over 18 years of experience within the highways industry, having technical experience from spending 10 years working in a highways and materials laboratory. Then working for emulsion and material suppliers again in a sales/technical role. Then taking and utilising this knowledge in contract and business management roles. Hayden as gained various academic experience gaining Mphil in Civil Engineering and working towards a PhD in Civil Engineering.

  Anthony Davies, Category Management Group Lead, National Highways

  Anthony Davies is the Category Management Group Lead for Specialist Surface Treatments at National Highways within Strategic Procurement.

  He has over 12 years’ experience within both regulated and un-regulated procurement environments in Highways, Construction and Service Provision categories, working across a breadth of public sector clients including Central Government, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Higher Education, and Health and Social Care.

  He is responsible for development and implementation of the category strategy for Specialist Surface Treatments for National Highways to ensure corporate objectives are met.  Anthony is passionate about the decarbonisation of the strategic road network, and also has responsibility for National Highways 2040 Net Zero Carbon Asphalt Roadmap

  Phil Eadon is the Head of Technical Services for ASI Solutions Ltd and has been in the highways construction and maintenance industry for over 30 years, starting his career at Tarmac in 1990. He worked to senior technical management roles in both the material production and contracting businesses. Phil joined ASI Solutions in 2015, which is the home of the original and trusted source of asphalt preservation in the UK and around the world.

  Phil is passionate about increasing the awareness of Rhinophalt asphalt preservation as a proven low carbon sustainable pavement maintenance solution and ensuring that ASI Solutions retains its position as a market leader based on technical & operational excellence and trust.

  Emma Pye, Founder and Director, PYE-Management Ltd

  Emma Pye is the Founder and Director of PYE-Management Ltd a Sustainability Consultancy specialising in the highway industry. She is a chartered environmentalist, a Fellow of the IEMA, and is a Committee Member for ISO 14001 Environmental management systems for the UK.

  Emma Pye has over 25 years’ experience working within the construction, highways and quarrying sectors. She is highly experienced in PAS 2080, carbon footprinting, ISO 14001 and sustainability strategies. Her knowledge, experience and vision provide support in a constantly changing environment, whose insight into current and future global concerns are addressing the needs of forward-looking clients and has a successful track record of implementing and managing environmental change and improvement. Her recent works includes the RSTA Carbon Emissions for Road Surface and other Maintenance Treatments Report.

  Dave Rigby, Technical Services Manager, Road Maintenance Services Ltd

  I have spent 47 years in highway maintenance, starting as an apprentice with Lancashire County Council in 1977.
  I have been involved in surface treatments since 1989 when taking over the management of the surface dressing teams at LCC.

  LCC joined the then RSDA in 1992 & I was invited onto the Surface Dressing Technical Committee under the guidance of people like John Simpson, latterly becoming chair of the committee in 2008 through to 2014.
  During that time, I have sat on various working groups, Roadnote 39, Codes of Practise for Surface Dressing but to name two.

  Leaving LCC in 2014 after redundancy I worked for a resurfacing company locally called Multipave for 5 years.
  I joined the RSTA IN 2019 as their Chief Technical Officer working closely with the CEO to deliver training courses & all technical matters.

  In 2020 I joined Road Maintenance Services Ltd as their Technical Manager being involved in HAPAS certification & general compliance.

  Leonardo Rodrigues, a PhD in civil engineering, is a senior asset performance modeller at XAIS-PTS. With expertise in statistics and stochastic modelling, he focuses on risk-based decision-making. Leonardo’s research and innovative thinking contribute to redefining asset management paradigms, combining analytical rigour with creative solutions.

  Paul Thompson has joined Wrekin Products as Technical Development and Specification Manager to support and improve its specification of products, strategy and drive the adoption of solutions and services. Paul is an active member of several BSI and industry standards committees and technical working groups and has a particular interest in sustainability. As sustainability and net-zero targets continue to form the green agenda for businesses, Paul is keen to see efficient, innovative, sustainable solutions adopted by the industry, as now is an essential time to review procedures and products to help guide people into understanding more about how collaboration can contribute to net-zero targets and carbon reduction.

  Jonathan Till, National Sales Manager UK & Ireland, GCP Applied Technologies

  Joined Stirling Lloyd Highways team in 2013 having spent 20 years providing Natural Stone product and solutions to local Authorities for Urban Realm schemes for Town & City Centre refurbishments.

  GCP Applied Technologies are a member of both LCRIG and the RSTA and Jonathan is current Chair of the RSTA High Friction Surfacing Committee and previously had representation on the RSTA Crack & Joint Committee.

  Stirling Lloyd introduced the first range of cold applied liquid waterproofing and Highways Maintenance products which were innovative and revolutionary in an industry where hot applied bitumen products were very much prevalent

  Stirling Lloyd were acquired in May 2017 by GCP Applied Technologies (formerly W R Grace) mainly for the cold spray applied waterproofing and in October 2022 GCP Applied Technologies were acquired by Saint Gobain to strengthen the presence in Infrastructure

  Will Lewis, UK Business Manager, Roadtechs Group

  Will Lewis is the UK Business Manager for Roadtechs Group and has been working in the Highways sector for over a decade.

  He is passionate about driving change through innovation and is also an enthusiastic supporter of carbon and cost reducing products.

  Taking a collaborative approach, he heads up the delivery of surface extension treatments throughout Northern regions of the UK.

  Working mainly with Asset Managers within local Authorities and County Councils, Will is always keen to chat to perspective clients.

  Daniel Vale, Asset Manager, Staffordshire County Council

  Career spanning 28 years highways and construction experience covering 23 in local authority and 5 as Managing Agent Contractor on behalf of National Highways.

  Having returned to the Staffordshire contract in 2010 as part of the capital maintenance team, I am now in my fifth year as Staffordshire’s Highway Asset Manager, responsible for the oversight of capital highways maintenance, condition monitoring, lifecycle planning and development of forward programmes.

  I strongly believe in the network benefits of preventative treatment and proud of the way in which Staffordshire embrace technology and innovation.
